Honey - Pasteurisation and filtration

The main reason for using a pasteurisation plant for honey processing is to maintain the runny consistency for as long as possible. Runny honey is considerably more popular with consumers. Runny honey can also be offered in attractive dispenser jars.
There are various processes for maintaining the runny consistency for a longer period. Flash pasteurisation is one of these. Tempering only occurs for a few seconds in this process. The honey is heated up and then it is cooled down again. The HMF (hydroxymethylfurfural) value remains very low.
There is no stage in honey processing where the honey is as runny as it is in the pasteurisation plant. This makes it the ideal place for carrying out filtration of the honey as well. The honey processing enterprise sets the separation rate. This can range from coarse filtration (beeswax, bees' body parts and other particles) right through to a defined reduction in the pollen count.

Pasteurisation and filtration plant for honey

Flexible and set up optimally for future requirements.

Our pasteurisation plant for honey was specially designed for this hard to handle product. On the one hand pasteurisation occurs in such a way that heating occurs without a noticeable increase in the HMF value while all crystals are dissolved safely on the other hand. It is possible to start the system from cold when it is filled with honey if this is necessary.
The honey is strongly liquefied inside our pasteurisation plant. This presents an opportunity to carry out further treatment steps. It lends itself to honey filtration in particular. Our filtration unit can be equipped with filter elements which have different separation rates. This can also be done retrospectively. The impurities can be discharged from the filter automatically during operation (self-cleaning filter).
In addition to filtration, it is also possible to provide a blending station inside the pasteurisation plant if the honey processor's product portfolio contains associated honey products. There is no other stage during honey processing where it is so straightforward to create a homogeneous product so easily and without additional treatment steps.

Honey pumping station

The perfect addition to our pasteurisation plant.

Honey is normally siphoned out of an open tank, which receives the contents of the honey barrels from the honey farm. The pump must be able to suck the honey in dry. Almost every pump is able to provide good suction when the area is filled with liquid. Water is, however, not desirable during honey processing. The water content in honey must not exceed 20% as mould spores could otherwise multiply. In tandem with the pasteurisation plant, our dry suction pumping station forms a perfect unit for honey treatment and CIP cleaning. The pumping station can apply air to the connected components and discharge the medium (subject to an appropriate arrangement of the connected components).
Both our honey pasteurisation plant and our pumping station comply with EHEDG directives.
